Spatial Irreverence: An Anthology of Black American Dance on Early YouTube

>> the internet remains a living archive where black subcultures are recorded, remixed, and too often overwritten. post late-2000s, black youth leveraged youtube as a webspace to assert visibility, flex, and exchange hyper-regional codes. dance is a vessel for memory and choreography is an act of biography. these videos retain carbon copy receipts of online dance’s pre-monocultural expression and how the body vibrates instruction (corporeal episteme).
